Email not being delivered to Outlook Live

Category: IT Services. Submitted on March 18th, 2010 at 16:10:00

To all IT support staff.

We are aware of an issue with Microsoft's email gateways for Outlook Live. Currently all external (to Outlook Live) email to students who are using the service is being refused. Therefore any staff trying to email students addresses is being rejected.

We think that email within Outlook Live is working and that students can send messages from Outlook Live.

Microsoft have not posted any information regarding this problem, but several other Universities are reporting the same symptoms.

Email for Outlook Live addresses will remain on our email routers and will be delivered when the Outlook Live service starts to accept messages again.

There is no indication as to when a fix will be available.

Regards
Rick

    To all IT support staff,

The issue with the Outlook Live service not accepting email has been resolved. All queued up mail on the University's mailrouters has now been delivered to student's email addresses on that service.
